So who is Perry Waag and why should anyone care what I have to say? Well the short answer is I’m just a stay at home dad who cares very deeply about his country, and you do not have to like or listen to a single word. It’s a free country as they say.
I graduated Cum Laude from Hofstra University in 1997 with a B.A. in Political Science with a double minor in Economics & International Affairs, am a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and have never worked a day in government, because even 25+ years ago I was turned off by the negative and juvenile aspects of our national conversation and how our elected officials go about their business.
As a result I spent my 20’s and early 30’s in the business world, got married, had a child, became a stay at home dad when she was born, and all along kept up with what’s been going on in the country and the world.
Below are just some of the highlights from an accomplishments standpoint if it helps anyone reading my page to feel a little more confident that I know what I’m talking about. : )
- Registered as No Party Affiliation since 2003
- Previously registered as a Republican from 1994 to 2003
- Active in the nonpartisan democracy reform movement since 2015 (now known as Voters First Movement)
- Previously National Volunteer Coordinator for Unite America (2018-2019)
- Co-Founded the nonpartisan ranked choice voting organization Rank My Vote Florida in 2019 and helped run it for the first 2 years
- Currently trying to decide how best I can help heal our national conversation, bridge the partisan divide, and encourage my fellow Americans to always put Country Over Party.
