Interior

The Department of the Interior is one of our agencies that does critical work that we all benefit from, yet is the poster child for being severely underfunded.  It oversees the National Park Service, the Fish & Wildlife Service, the US Geological Survey, manages almost all federal lands including conservation efforts on those lands, and is responsible for interacting with Native Americans and their reservations.  This department too really needs to stay above the political fray and be nonpartisan, but sadly it has not always had that track record.

There is such a backlog of work that needs to be done at our national parks, monuments, and memorials to keep them up to par, not to mention paying our park rangers better.  I could go on and on about the importance of all of the specific needs and making sure they are fully funded, but suffice to say that the Department of the Interior greatly needs our help and a major boost to its funding across all of its activities.
