In theory, and in practice, the Small Business Administration sounds like a great idea. But the simple truth is that the vast majority of small businesses never seek out or have any interaction with the SBA.
Furthermore, isn’t this a luxury for our federal government and not something that is necessary?
Why can’t states and local governments try to help small businesses?
Why does it have to fall to the federal government to try and help them?
I definitely support trying to direct as many federal contracts as possible to small businesses, but I just don’t see the legal or moral requirement for the federal government to be involved in helping small businesses.
